“Patientenberatung” is a free and independent advisory service for patients in Germany, known as:
Unabhängige Patientenberatung Deutschland (UPD)
(Independent Patients’ Advisory Service in Germany)
It is partly funded by the state and offers transparent, neutral advice for everyone living in Germany – whether they are insured in GKV, PKV, or are, for example, asylum seekers or refugees.
