“Between Sweet and Bitter” – Berlin establishes Arab exile poetry in Europe

 

• The bilingual anthology Between Sweet and Bitter – Grenzlandschaften was recently published by EB-Verlag in Berlin.

• It was curated by the Arab Studies Department at the University of Bonn in cooperation with “Diwan – Arab Cultural House in Berlin.”

• The project aims to catalogue Arab poetry written in Europe as an independent literary phenomenon.

• It seeks to document historical and aesthetic contexts beyond folkloric or orientalist perspectives.
