Twenty-five years ago, Süleyman Taşköprü was murdered by the National Socialist Underground (NSU) in Hamburg. This case remains a painful chapter in German history. While other federal states established parliamentary inquiry committees to investigate the backgrounds and failures, Hamburg did not have such a committee. This has resulted in many questions concerning the victims' families and the public remaining unanswered to this day. The circumstances surrounding the murder and the failures of the authorities cast a shadow over trust in security forces and politics. Families have been demanding comprehensive clarification and justice for years. It remains to be seen whether Hamburg will finally take steps to address these issues.
