A 19-year-old German of Syrian origin is once again standing trial in Dresden after being accused of a series of violent assaults and robberies, only shortly after receiving a suspended sentence in a previous case.
In summer 2025, he had been convicted for attacking passersby and stealing their money, as well as threatening and humiliating a 13-year-old boy for hours. Despite the severity of his actions, he was given a suspended sentence, particularly after his family moved from Saxony to Hanover.
However, just days later, prosecutors say he carried out two break-ins within a week, targeting former neighbors in Dresden’s Löbtau district, both of whom suffer from serious health problems.
