Germany has been shaken by the killing of 14-year-old Yusuf, originally from Eritrea, whose body was discovered on January 28 in Waldesi near Dormagen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Autopsy results confirmed he was fatally stabbed.
Police identified the suspect as a 12-year-old German boy. Investigators traced him using data from the victim’s mobile phone, leading them to believe the crime was premeditated.
Authorities withheld further details due to the suspect’s age. Around 2,000 people attended Yusuf’s funeral last weekend, while a private memorial service was held for the family.
