Uni-Assist Application Guide: Filling in the Form and Paying the Fees
1. What is Uni-Assist?
Uni-Assist (www.uni-assist.de) is a central application platform that evaluates the qualifications of international students and forwards the assessment results to German universities.
If the university you wish to apply to requires application via Uni-Assist, you must follow this route completely.
Step 1: Create an Account on Uni-Assist

Go to: https://my.uni-assist.de/

Click on “Registrieren” (Register).

Fill in your personal details:

Name, date of birth, nationality

Email address and password
-

You will receive a confirmation email – click the link to activate your account.
Step 2: Select Programs and Universities

After logging in, go to “Meine Anträge → Studienangebot suchen” (“My applications → Search study offers”).

Specify:

Type of degree (Bachelor or Master)
-
Semester (Wintersemester or Sommersemester)
-
Language of instruction
-
University
-
-
Add the programs you wish to apply for to your application list.
Step 3: Fill in the Application Form
For each program, you must complete a separate online application form, including:

Your personal information

Previous educational qualifications

Foreign language skills
-
Reason for choosing the program (optional)

Your academic documents (to be uploaded as PDF files)
Documents usually required:

Secondary school certificate (Abitur or equivalent)

University degree certificate (if applying for a Master’s program)

Transcript of records

Language certificates (e.g. TestDaF, IELTS, TOEFL …)

CV (Lebenslauf)

Motivation letter (Motivationsschreiben)

Copy of your passport

APS certificate (required for applicants from China, India and Vietnam)
Step 4: Pay the Application Fees
Basic fees:

75 € for the first application

30 € for each additional application in the same semester
Accepted payment methods:

Credit card (Visa / MasterCard)

SEPA bank transfer from a European bank account
Important:
Transfers from outside Europe are usually only accepted if they are in euros and you cover all transfer charges.
Step 5: Submit Your Application
After uploading all documents and paying the fees, make sure you click on “Antrag abgeben” (Submit application).
In most cases, you do not need to send paper copies by post, unless the university explicitly asks for hard copies.
Step 6: Track Your Application

Log in again later to check the status of your application.

The status may change as follows:

“Bearbeitung” → being processed

“Weitergeleitet” → forwarded to the university

“Vollständig” → complete

You will receive a notification if any documents are missing or need to be updated.
