KulturPass for young people: 200 € for free for books, concerts and museums
What is the KulturPass?
The KulturPass is a federal cultural funding program that provides each young person turning 18 with a credit of 200 € to discover cultural activities and services – such as books, music, live performances and museums – via a dedicated app/website (theguardian.com).
Who benefits? And for how long?
It is aimed at everyone born in 2005 who reached the age of majority in 2023, and it has also been made available to those born in 2006 starting from March 2024.
The credit can be used until 31 December of the following year (for example, those born in 2006 can use it until the end of 2025).
What can you spend the 200 € on?
The KulturPass allows you to:
-
Buy books and cultural items (such as vinyl records and notebooks).
-
Book tickets for live performances like theatre plays and concerts.
-
Visit museums and cinemas.
-
Take part in local cultural workshops or obtain an annual pass for a library or museum (bundesregierung.de, deutschland.de).
Not included: major digital platforms (Spotify, Netflix) and large online retailers (Amazon).
