British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the UK is considering tougher sanctions on Moscow after a joint investigation by five European countries concluded that opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned in prison.

The investigation, conducted by the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden, confirmed through laboratory analysis that Navalny was killed with a deadly toxin.

Cooper told the Munich Security Conference: “We continue to consider coordinated measures, including increasing sanctions on the Russian regime.”

Russia rejected the accusations, calling them “fabrication and a media campaign.”
