EU Agriculture Commissioner Christophe Hansen cautioned that reliance on external food supplies could expose Europe to risks of food being weaponized in hybrid conflicts.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Hansen said: “Russia considers grain its second oil (…) we need to reduce our dependence on it.”
