Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer stole the spotlight during Bayern Munich’s German Cup quarterfinal clash against RB Leipzig with an unusual moment on the pitch.
In the 39th minute, Leipzig striker Konrad Harder intercepted a pass from Neuer inside Bayern’s penalty area. The referee awarded a foul in favor of the 39-year-old keeper.
Neuer then asked the Leipzig player to return the ball to him, and Harder complied, creating a striking scene that was captured by cameras.
Neuer’s contract with Bayern Munich runs until June 30, 2026. He had previously announced his retirement from international football with the German national team.
