Germany’s Green Party has called for wealthy business leaders and investors to be summoned to parliament to address the issue of declining gas reserves.
The party argues that the wealthy should contribute more to tackling the crisis, either by investing in renewable energy projects or by bearing part of the financial burden caused by volatile gas markets.
The Greens warned that continued reliance on imported gas, coupled with shrinking reserves, could pose serious economic and social challenges for Germany.
