Volkswagen announced Friday that it will recall 206,012 locally manufactured Audi Q2 L vehicles in China, produced between August 2018 and January 2025, under its joint venture with the state-owned FAW.
According to Chinese automotive regulators, the adhesive used to secure exterior panels on the Audi Q2 L’s pillar may deteriorate under prolonged exposure to high heat and humidity. In extreme cases, this could cause the panels to detach while driving, posing a safety risk to road users.
The recall is part of preventive safety measures mandated by Chinese authorities. German officials confirmed that Volkswagen will address the potential defect in the affected vehicles.
