Several German cities witnessed protests following a harsh sentence handed down to a German activist in Hungary.
Demonstrators denounced what they described as “political persecution” and called on the German government to protect her and defend her rights.
The protests were concentrated in Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg, with hundreds taking part in peaceful marches.
German human rights organizations condemned the ruling as “unjust,” saying it reflects growing restrictions on freedoms in Hungary.
The German government stated it is closely monitoring the case and will hold talks with Hungarian authorities to address the situation.
