Bundesliga: Dortmund Chasing Bayern – Stuttgart Continues Revival

Publication date: 2026-02-02

Borussia Dortmund earned a hard-fought 3–2 win over bottom side Heidenheim, cutting Bayern Munich’s lead at the top to six points. Waldemar Anton scored once, while Serhou Guirassy netted twice. Julian Niehues scored both goals for Heidenheim.

Following last week’s 3–0 victory over Union Berlin, Dortmund capitalized on Bayern’s slip-ups – a loss to Augsburg and a draw in Hamburg – reigniting the title race.

Dortmund now sits on 45 points, trailing Bayern’s 51. The two sides will meet at Signal Iduna Park at the end of February. Before that, Bayern faces Hoffenheim, while Dortmund travels to Leipzig and plays Atalanta in the Champions League.
