German Brigadier General Gerald Funke, commander of the Armed Forces Support Command, has warned of a potential Russian attack against NATO within the next two to three years.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, Funke painted a grim picture of a “worst-case scenario,” in which Germany would find itself at the center of military operations from the very first hours, serving not only as a fighting force but also as a strategic logistical hub for NATO troops heading east.
His remarks highlight growing security concerns across Europe and underline Germany’s military preparations for possible escalation.
