A 17-year-old teenager died early Saturday in Berlin after suffering a fatal electric shock at the “Deutsche Oper” subway station.
Police reported that the boy was with a group of friends when he attempted to retrieve his electronic cigarette that had fallen onto the tracks. In the process, he touched the live rail and was electrocuted, dying instantly at the scene.
The incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. Firefighters were initially alerted to an injured person before police confirmed the fatal accident.
