German security authorities announced they had dismantled an extremist cell that was planning attacks before its members traveled to Syria to join terrorist groups.

Coordinated raids were carried out in several cities, with homes searched, materials seized, and multiple suspects arrested.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office stated that the group had been under surveillance for months. Officials emphasized that the operation prevented a “serious attack plan” and investigations continue to uncover further supporters and networks.
