German CDU foreign policy expert Roderich Kiesewetter suggested that Germany could financially contribute to a European nuclear umbrella, given concerns over Donald Trump’s unpredictable policies and Vladimir Putin’s threats. He stressed that Germany cannot produce or independently use nuclear weapons under the “Two-plus-Four Treaty,” but could fund and host them in cooperation with other nations.
