A recent study by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, affiliated with the CDU, revealed that fear of right-wing extremism in Germany is greater among Germans without a migration background than among migrants and their children.

The survey, conducted between October 2024 and January 2025, included about 3,000 participants across Germany, among them 1007 foreigners and 1003 Germans with a migration background.

According to the findings, 74% of Germans without a migration background agreed with the statement “Right-wing extremism in Germany frightens me.” Of these, 46% fully agreed, while 28% agreed to some extent.

Among Germans with a migration background, 66% expressed concern about right-wing extremism, compared to 55% of foreigners living in Germany. People of Turkish and Russian origin showed the highest levels of concern, while those of Polish origin expressed less fear.

The study also highlighted differences between the groups regarding responsibility for the war in Ukraine and attitudes toward antisemitism.
