The Hamburg Regional Court has ordered ten activists from the “Last Generation” climate group to pay more than 400,000 euros in damages to Eurowings, following their conviction for disrupting operations at Hamburg Airport over two years ago. The ruling, issued on November 20, 2025 and announced on November 25, stems from a civil lawsuit filed by the Lufthansa subsidiary after the incident on July 13, 2023. On that day, activists cut through the airport fence, entered the grounds, and four of them glued themselves near the runways, causing major disruption. The group included four women and six men aged between 19 and 63. The court also stressed that if such actions are repeated, the defendants could face up to six months of detention as a regulatory penalty, meaning possible imprisonment. The verdict is not yet final.
