What is a Kolloquium?
It is an oral presentation and discussion of your thesis (Masterarbeit), conducted in front of a committee of professors in your field, and it represents an opportunity to demonstrate:

Typical duration:

Steps for successful preparation

Understand your thesis in depth

Re-read your abstract, research question, methodology, and results

Prepare 3–5 main messages (Kernaussagen) to present

Prepare the presentation (Präsentation)

Use PowerPoint or Prezi or PDF

Keep the design simple: title, research question, methodology, results, conclusion

Use supportive charts or images

Don’t write too much text — use keywords only

Practice your delivery

Pause at each slide to explain it simply
During the presentation – how to impress the committee
Start with a simple greeting:

Don’t read from a script — speak freely

Respect the time — do not exceed the allotted duration
During the discussion – how to handle questions

The Kolloquium is not a difficult exam, but an opportunity to show your achievement.
