Police Official Criticizes GdP Call for Resistance Against AfD

Publication date: 2026-08-13
Sven Hüber, the Vice Chairman of the police union GdP, has urged his colleagues in Saxony-Anhalt to take a stand against the Alternative for Germany (AfD). Under the slogan 'Say No Properly', Hüber expressed concerns about the political direction of the AfD and called for active rejection. However, these statements faced criticism from Heiko Teggatz, the federal chairman of the German police union, who sees Hüber's rhetoric as problematic. Teggatz emphasized that the police should remain neutral and that political calls within the police union are not the right approach.
