German Government Plans New Civil Service

The German government is working on the foundations for a new civil service in preparation for potential future developments in the area of military service. Since the beginning of the year, a new military service has been in effect, but it does not yet include compulsory service. According to a report by Bild newspaper, the government will take steps to ensure it is ready in case compulsory service is introduced.
