Parental Allowance: The Need for a New Concept in Germany

Parental allowance was introduced with the aim of increasing the birth rate in Germany and supporting parents. However, the reality is quite different. Birth rates are declining, and many mothers and fathers feel exhausted. Especially in the summer months, they extend their leisure time to cope with the challenges of parenthood. It is clear that the current concept is not delivering the desired results. Therefore, experts are calling for a rethinking and new approaches to better support families and sustainably increase the birth rate.
