Two years ago, the law for the partial legalization of cannabis possession came into effect. Since then, Union ministers of the current government have drawn a critical balance and are now demanding improvements. The original goals of the law, aimed at reducing the criminalization of cannabis users and combating the black market, seem not to have been fully achieved. However, a new study analyzing the law's impacts yields a differentiated result. While some aspects of the law are considered successful, other areas indicate an urgent need for improvement. This discussion is expected to intensify in the coming weeks as the government faces pressure to find the best solutions.
