Germany: Solar Sector Threatened with Loss of Tens of Thousands of Jobs

 

The German Solar Industry Association has warned that government plans to reduce subsidies for small new solar systems could result in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs. Demand for rooftop solar installations may drop from 5 gigawatts annually to less than 2 gigawatts, posing a serious risk to the future of renewable energy in Germany.
