Germany: Technical Failure Disables Emergency Call Columns on Highways

 

German authorities reported a widespread technical malfunction that disabled emergency call columns along the country’s highways. These columns are normally used by drivers to request assistance in case of accidents or breakdowns. The Ministry of Transport stated that repair teams are working to fix the issue, and advised motorists to temporarily rely on mobile phones to contact emergency services.
