Syrian Young Woman Wins Seat in German City Council

 

Sham Salah, an 18-year-old of Syrian origin, has won a seat in the city council of Schwabach, Bavaria, running on the Social Democratic Party (SPD) list. She is now among the youngest migrant-background politicians to enter local politics in Germany.
