German Foreign Minister Johann Fadevoll made an emergency trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia to discuss the consequences of the ongoing Iran war. In Riyadh, he met Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan to explore possible ways to end the attacks on Iran. Saudi Arabia had reported its first casualties since the conflict began. Germany also withdrew staff from its consulate in Erbil after evacuating its embassy in Baghdad. In Jerusalem, Fadevoll stressed that Iran’s collapse would have major repercussions felt in Europe as well.
