Qatar: Emir Receives Call from German Chancellor

 

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during which they discussed regional developments and the impact of escalation on global energy security. Both leaders stressed the need for intensified international efforts to de-escalate and prioritize diplomatic solutions in line with the UN Charter. Later, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces intercepted an Iranian attack involving 17 ballistic missiles and 6 drones, with no casualties reported.
