Germany: Police Seize Car Loaded with 450 Liters of Spring Water

 

Police in North Rhine–Westphalia stopped a car carrying 450 liters of spring water, illegally collected from the Silberbach River near Bad Salzuflen.

• Officers noticed the rear axle was heavily overloaded and inspected the vehicle.

• Investigations revealed the water had been taken without authorization from a protected natural area.

• The driver now faces a fine of up to €50,000 under German environmental law.
