Germany’s Interior Ministry announced the deportation of 20 Afghan men convicted of serious crimes, including sexual offenses, assault, and drug-related crimes. They were flown on a special aircraft from Leipzig to Kabul, described as part of stricter migration measures.
Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said the move was a “clear signal” that serious offenders would not remain in Germany. However, a German newspaper criticized the policy, noting that during the same period about 1,772 new Afghans arrived in Germany through family reunification, humanitarian admission, or asylum applications.
