Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced an immediate action plan to accelerate asylum seekers’ entry into the workforce.
-
Asylum seekers will be allowed to work after three months of residence, even if their asylum process is not yet completed.
-
Participation will be voluntary, with no obligation to accept jobs.
-
Dobrindt emphasized: “The best form of integration is joining the workforce.”
-
The plan excludes those whose applications have been rejected or who fail to cooperate (e.g., hiding identity, providing false information).
-
Employment will not affect the asylum decision, which remains independent.
