Unusual scene: Injured cormorant knocks on ER door

 

In Bremen, staff at the emergency department of “Links der Weser” hospital were surprised when an injured cormorant appeared at the glass entrance, pecking insistently as if asking for help.

• The bird had a fishing hook dangerously stuck in its beak.

• Police and fire services reported it kept knocking until staff noticed and called rescue services.

• The cormorant was taken for treatment.
