Germany: Man stabbed to death outside Hamburg restaurant – police secure hospital after relatives gather

A violent stabbing occurred Thursday evening in Hamburg’s Vandsbek district outside an Iranian restaurant.

  • Police received a call at 21:39 reporting a fight between two men.

  • The altercation escalated, with one suspect pulling a knife and stabbing the other.

  • The victim – identified by “Hamburger Morgenpost” as the restaurant owner – was rushed to Vandsbek hospital but later died of his injuries.

  • Following the death announcement, many relatives gathered at the hospital, prompting police to deploy about 20 patrol cars to secure the premises.

  • The suspect fled by car; homicide detectives have launched a large-scale search in Hamburg and surrounding areas.
