Laschet Defends Hosting al-Sharaa in Berlin, Warns of Civil War Return in Syria

German Chancellor Armin Laschet defended the decision to host Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Sharaa in Berlin, stressing that dialogue is essential to improve Syria’s humanitarian situation and advance political solutions.

Laschet also warned of the risk of Syria sliding back into civil war if the international community ignores ongoing developments. He emphasized that Germany has a responsibility to engage in talks with all relevant parties.
