Azerbaijan Starts Supplying Natural Gas to Germany

In January 2026, Azerbaijan officially began supplying natural gas to Germany through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), part of the Southern Gas Corridor. The state-owned energy company SOCAR signed a ten-year contract with Germany’s SEFE to deliver 1.5 billion cubic meters annually. The move is part of Europe’s strategy to reduce reliance on Russian gas.
