German airline Lufthansa has instructed its staff to prepare for departure from Israel and announced the suspension of all flights to and from the country starting Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The decision comes amid rising regional tensions. Israeli media reported that the move is linked to U.S. threats of military action against Iran, with expectations that any Iranian retaliation could target Israel.
In June 2025, several international airlines, including Lufthansa, had already suspended flights to Israel during the conflict with Iran.
