The German Foreign Ministry (Auswärtiges Amt) has issued a stark warning to its citizens against traveling to Syria, stressing that the country remains plagued by severe risks and instability.
In its statement, the ministry highlighted ongoing violence and armed clashes across different regions.
It even advised potential travelers to prepare a will before heading to Syria, underlining the life-threatening dangers they could face.
The ministry also noted that consular assistance in Syria is extremely limited due to the security situation, making it very difficult to protect German nationals there.
