German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed 27 agreements in Ahmedabad to boost cooperation.

Key areas include defense, with India planning to build six submarines worth €8 billion in collaboration with ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS).

Other agreements cover rare earth resources, youth hockey development, and the recruitment of skilled Indian workers for Germany’s healthcare system.

Merz also condemned violence against protesters in Iran, calling it “disproportionate” and a sign of weakness.
