Sudan: 1000 Days of War – Displacement, Hunger, and Urgent Calls for Peace

Marking 1000 days of conflict between Sudan’s Armed Forces and the RSF, UN agencies highlight a dire humanitarian crisis. 9.3 million people remain displaced inside Sudan, over 4.3 million have fled across borders, and 21 million face acute food insecurity. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described Sudan as one of the worst humanitarian disasters of this century, urging an immediate ceasefire. Since April 2023, around 200 attacks on health facilities have been recorded, causing 1900 deaths and 490 injuries.
