Germany’s industrial sector is showing clear signs of recovery. According to the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden, industrial production rose unexpectedly by 0.8% in November 2025 compared to the previous month – the third consecutive increase, despite analysts predicting a decline.
The automotive industry was the main driver, recording a 7.8% increase, while mechanical engineering also contributed positively. Year-on-year, production rose by 0.8%, defying expectations of a 1.0% drop.
Industrial orders released on Thursday were surprisingly strong, raising hopes among economists that the downturn in German industry may be nearing its end.
