Germany shows significant wage disparities across its federal states. Hamburg leads with an average annual salary of €60,000, while Munich stands out as the highest-paying city with €64,750.

Baden-Württemberg and Hesse follow with averages above €58,000, while Bavaria records €57,750. Eastern states such as Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Saxony remain at the bottom, with averages between €47,750 and €49,000.

Gender disparities persist: men earn an average of €55,900 compared to €50,500 for women – a gap of 9.7%, reduced to 4.8% when excluding part-time work.

Doctors top the professions with over €100,000 annually, followed by AI experts at €89,000. Banking and finance lead sectors with €70,250, while hospitality, agriculture, and crafts remain the lowest, below €50,000.
