Hotel managements stated they are offering rooms at significantly reduced prices to help people left without heating and lighting.
The initiative particularly targets elderly citizens and families with children. Some hotels have also provided backup generators to ensure basic electricity and warmth.
Berlin authorities welcomed the move, stressing that it provides crucial support for residents until full power restoration is achieved.
