A storage facility owned by Brandenburg’s Commissioner for Combating Anti-Semitism, Andreas Büttner, in the city of Templin was damaged in a suspected arson attack. Police reported finding a red “Hamas triangle” near the site.

The State Security division, responsible for politically motivated crimes, has launched an investigation into suspected arson. Authorities said they received a call at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday (January 4, 2026) reporting a fire in a hut on private property. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

Police added that they discovered an anti-constitutional symbol in the immediate vicinity. According to security sources, a red triangle was painted on the door of the house.

The red triangle is used by Hamas in videos to mark Israeli vehicles and soldiers targeted in Gaza.

Germany, the European Union, the United States, and other countries classify Hamas as a terrorist organization.
