German media reported that an 80-year-old man surprised customs officers at Cologne Airport when several gold coins were found in his luggage during a routine inspection.
According to reports, the elderly passenger was unable to provide documents proving the origin or legal ownership of the coins. Customs authorities have therefore launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the case.
