A 72-year-old man died on Saturday evening, December 28, 2025, after being struck by a car directly in front of his home in Cologne, North Rhine–Westphalia.
Police reported that the vehicle was a Renault Clio driven by a 35-year-old man. The victim sustained severe injuries and died at the scene despite emergency efforts.
A specialized team from Wuppertal was called in to document and analyze the accident site. Emergency services also provided psychological support to the victim’s family and the driver.
Authorities stated that the circumstances remain unclear. It is not yet known whether the man was already lying on the road or was hit while crossing. Investigations are ongoing.
