In his official Christmas speech, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier urged his fellow citizens to show courage and solidarity with Ukraine.
Steinmeier emphasized that freedom, human dignity, just peace, and the right to democratic self-determination are values Europeans will never abandon.
He noted that Christmas is a time of unity and solidarity, adding: “Our support and solidarity are not limited to those geographically close to us. We also think of the people of Ukraine, who have been facing Russia’s war for nearly four years.”
