In Bavaria, Germany successfully tested the warheads of its new kamikaze drone “Virtus.” According to Stark Defense, one of the companies involved in the project, the drones can fly more than 100 kilometers and remain airborne for over an hour, circling operational areas and identifying targets.

Designed to counter enemy tanks, air defense missile sites, and radar installations, the warheads proved capable of penetrating more than 800 millimeters of armored steel during industrial testing.

The “Virtus” drones are considered highly significant for alliance and defense operations, with plans for mass production in the future.

German Army Inspector General, Lieutenant General Christian Freuding, announced plans to establish six units in the coming years to deploy the newly introduced kamikaze drones. He also commissioned a study on the Bundeswehr’s operational readiness and potential adversary capabilities through 2029, with results expected after the end of the year.
