A poll published on Saturday (December 20, 2025) revealed that most Germans back Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt’s goal of curbing migration.
According to the survey, 53% of respondents said they “fully support” the aim of reducing the influx of asylum seekers, while 23% said they “somewhat support” it. In contrast, 15% rejected the goal entirely or partially, and 9% either gave no opinion or did not answer.
The poll was conducted by the YouGov institute on behalf of the German Press Agency (dpa), with more than 2,100 eligible voters participating between December 12 and 15, 2025.
